A Bowl of Goodies

A wholesome meal with yoghurt, cereals, honey, fruits and nuts which are rich in potassium, omega 3 fatty acids and other nutrients, just ready to dig in!

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 1
Ingredients

1.     2 tbsp. low fat yoghurt
2.     2-3 tbsp. whole grain cereals
3.     1 tsp. raspberry puree
4.     2-3 tsp. chia seeds or basil seeds soaked in water
5.     3 toasted or plain roughly chopped walnuts
6.     2 tsp. raisins
7.     2-3 tsp. honey
 
For the toppings
1.     1 sliced banana
2.     A few blueberries
3.     1 sliced strawberry
Here We Go

1.     Take a bowl and add yoghurt. Using a spoon, beat well till it’s smooth in consistency.
2.     Add the raspberry puree and make soft swirls of the yoghurt and raspberry. Don’t mix it altogether.
3.     Now, spread a layer of chia or basil seeds also known as Sabja or tukmaria soaked in water for 15 minutes.
4.     Put a layer of whole grain cereals with oats or if you do not like yoghurt then make a simple oat meal by boiling oats with milk or water together for a couple of minutes .
5.     Top it up with the choice of your fruits (sliced banana, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, mango etc.).
6.     Sprinkle walnuts and raisins or other nuts of your choice.
7.      Drizzle some honey and serve.
 
 
Chef’s Whisper
 
1.     To make the raspberry puree, wash fresh raspberries and blend it in the mixer to obtain a smooth paste) Sieve it if you want to get rid of seeds else use as is. The unused puree can been kept in an airtight container or a bowl in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
2.     Prepare the fruit puree and soak the chia seeds a day before if you want to save up time.
3.     You can even store this entire mixture in a glass jar in the refrigerator and eat it whenever you are hungry during the day.
